Contents Cleaning & Restoration
When water, fire, or mold damages your home, the structure is only part of the loss. Furniture, clothing, electronics, artwork, documents, and personal keepsakes can often be restored, but only if they are handled quickly with the right processes. Revive Restoration provides professional contents cleaning, deodorization, and restoration that most homeowners cannot replicate on their own.
We inventory every item, pack and transport belongings to our climate-controlled facility, clean and restore them using HEPA vacuuming, ultrasonic cleaning, and ozone treatment as needed, then return everything to you once the structure is ready. Your belongings are tracked throughout, nothing gets lost in the process.
Step by Step
Our Contents Cleaning & Restoration Process
Every item in the affected area is photographed and documented in a detailed inventory before anything is moved. This record drives the insurance claim and ensures nothing is overlooked or lost.
Belongings are carefully packed and transported to our climate-controlled facility. Fragile, high-value, and sentimental items are handled separately with appropriate padding and documentation.
Each item is assessed for restorability. Hard goods, soft goods, electronics, and documents each require different cleaning methods. Items beyond restoration are documented for insurance replacement purposes.
Furniture and hard goods are cleaned with HEPA vacuuming and appropriate cleaning agents. Ultrasonic cleaning is used for electronics and small items. Textiles undergo professional laundering or dry-cleaning.
Smoke and mold odors are eliminated with ozone treatment and hydroxyl technology, not just masked. Items are treated until odor readings return to acceptable levels before being stored for return.
Once the structure is ready, restored belongings are delivered back and placed according to a room-by-room plan. The final inventory is reconciled against the insurance claim for a clean closeout.

Electronics are assessed individually; many can be restored through ultrasonic cleaning if treated quickly. Documents and photographs can often be freeze-dried or digitized. Items with significant structural damage or long-term mold penetration may be beyond restoration and are documented for insurance replacement.
Ultrasonic cleaning uses high-frequency sound waves in a liquid bath to remove contaminants from the surface and crevices of hard goods, including electronics, small appliances, tools, collectibles, and jewelry, without abrasion or harsh chemicals. It reaches into areas that manual cleaning cannot. We use it on items where conventional wiping would be insufficient or risk damage to delicate components.
Our team photographs and creates a room-by-room inventory of every item before anything is moved. Items are then packed with appropriate materials, padding for fragile goods, sealed bags for items with odor contamination, labeled, and loaded for transport to our facility. You receive a copy of the full inventory. When items are returned, the pack-back follows the same room-by-room plan so everything is placed as it was.
Yes, most homeowners and renters insurance policies cover contents cleaning and restoration as part of a covered loss claim, and they typically prefer restoration over replacement when items are salvageable, since restoration costs less. Revive documents every item in your inventory with condition photos and provides itemized restoration costs for your adjuster. We work directly with carriers to streamline the claim process.
Contents are typically cleaned and ready within 1–3 weeks of pack-out, depending on volume and the types of cleaning required. We coordinate the timeline with the structural rebuild so that your belongings return to your home at the same time the space is ready, minimizing the total time you are displaced from your normal routine.
Items determined to be beyond restoration are documented with photographs, condition notes, and estimated replacement values as part of the insurance inventory. This documentation supports your contents claim for replacement cost. Nothing is discarded without your knowledge and approval, and we always err on the side of attempting restoration first when there is a reasonable chance of success.
